Junior Apparel Designer

About the role

Our apparel retail client is looking for an Assistant Designer, Intimates to support their team on a hybrid contract basis in New York, NY from 05/26/2026 through 08/19/2026.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of seasonal intimates collections
• Research trends, competitive brands, colors, fabrics, and silhouettes
• Create mood boards, inspiration boards, and trend research
• Develop sketches and technical flats in Adobe Illustrator
• Execute technical design packages within PLM systems
• Partner with CAD, Merchandising, and Product Development teams
• Prepare development decks, line sheets, and presentations
• Attend fit sessions and support development approvals
• Assist with day-to-day design operations and organization

Requirements

• 1–2 years of apparel design experience or related background
• Strong Illustrator sketching and technical flat skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD tools
• Experience supporting product development and design execution
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Vizcom is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
