Junior Animator
This is a hybrid opportunity in Las Vegas.
About the role
The Junior Animator is responsible for crafting and animating symbols, characters, and images used in game software, progressive links, and other gaming products. This position collaborates with designers and programmers to build outstanding gaming concepts and entertaining products.
Responsibilities
- Contributes at all levels of the art production pipeline, from conceptualizing game designs to final game art, providing multiple creative solutions throughout.
- Maintains organized, layered files and asset storage.
- Works closely with the Art Director and team to develop artistically and professionally.
- Understands the rules of animation and applies them to work.
- Models, textures, and lights 2D and/or 3D objects and scenes.
- Builds original 2D and/or 3D animations and graphics.
- Knowledge of character animation is a plus.
- Understands storyboards and builds animatics for game workflow.
- Able to break down animation assets needed per task and provide accurate estimates.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in art design, Animation, or related field.
- Intermediate level in animation.
- Shows experience with animation tools and techniques, as demonstrated in portfolio.
- Previous experience in the gaming industry is a plus.
- Proficient in Photoshop and After Effects, including After Effects plug-ins such as Red Giant and/or Video-Copilot.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Maya and related 3D art packages; intermediate-level abilities in 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, lighting, and animation are a plus.
- Knowledge of storyboarding, video production, and 2D/3D animation.
- Exceptional drawing, illustration, and composition ability is a plus.
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English, tolerate moderate to occasional high levels of stress, multitask, and meet deadlines.

Pay
Pay range: $45,500 – $84,500 per year. Our goal is to pay a market-competitive salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. Final offers will be based on experience level, education, skills, work location, and internal pay equity.
