Jr. Systems Engineer - Space Technologies

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining Interface Control Specifications for space-based processing, controls, and electro-optical systems
• Serving as a liaison between engineering teams and customers
• Supporting the development of systems engineering documentation
• Leading design/development activities and managing system requirements
• Communicating with other program personnel, customers, and senior executives
• Supporting lab and field acceptance testing
• Ensuring the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables
• Creating and maintaining division-wide process documentation
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support design and development

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, Firmware, Systems, or Industrial Engineering
• 2+ years’ directly related experience
• Experience with tools supporting design, development, modeling, analysis, testing, and delivery of components, assemblies, and systems
• Understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies including PM&P, Mission Assurance verification analyses (e.g., Reliability, Stress Derating, Radiation Effects, etc.)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in systems, space, or electrical engineering (preferred)
• 5+ years directly related experience (preferred)
• Experience with advanced system engineering tools and software (e.g. CAMEO, Reliance, python, MATLAB, ANSYS) (preferred)
• Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering languages or methods (SysML, OOSEM) (preferred)
• Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements, including AS9100D (preferred)
• Demonstrated systems engineering skills preferably in the execution of programs from inception and scoping through execution and delivery (preferred)
• Demonstrated skills of the development and implementation of Systems Engineering policies, practices, and procedures (e.g. engineering rigor/documentation, MBSE, innovation) (preferred)
