Jr. Software Engineer

This is a contract role for a Junior Software Engineer (601 Level) requiring 5+ years of experience, focusing on strong Java/Spring Boot combined with Data Engineering, including ETL and streaming pipelines.

About the role

The primary location is Wilmington, DE, with secondary locations in Columbus, OH; Houston, TX; Plano, TX; and Jersey City, NJ. The role is onsite, with the Wilmington team working onsite on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The contract duration is 5 months.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and manage ETL and streaming pipelines.
• Perform strong SQL database management.
• Implement unit testing and version control practices.
• Utilize Agile methodologies for development.
• Develop APIs and manage database interactions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Spark or PySpark.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Proficiency in Python or Java.
• Experience with AWS services (SQS, Lambda, S3, RDS) is preferred.
• Work authorization as a Green Card holder, US Citizen, or GC EAD.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field is preferred.

Nice-to-have Skills

• Shell Scripting / Unix experience.
• Terraform experience.
• Knowledge of LLM technologies, practical LLM use cases, OpenAI, or Azure AI.
• Experience with other cloud platforms.
