JR Software Engineer

About the role
You are a Jr. Software Engineer who will perform all activities associated with the design, development, implementation, maintenance, configuration management, and quality control of software for scientific and engineering applications.
Responsibilities
- Create prototypes and perform internal testing of software products
- Respond to software discrepancies against documented requirements and provide resolution
- Determine software maintainability and overall adherence to user requirements
- Generate program design language and code based on mission standards
- Generate and update project documents
- Analyze and evaluate systems, devising computer specifications for scientific and engineering applications
- Encode, test, debug, and install operating programs and procedures
- Collaborate with engineers in the design, development, and utilization of scientific and engineering electronic data processing systems software
- Provide analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software for products such as utility software, development software, and diagnostic software
- Participate in the development of engineering test strategies, devices, and systems
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance and the ability to successfully obtain a CI Polygraph
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and 0-3 years of related experience, or AA in related field and 3 years of related experience, or in lieu of formal education, 10 years of related experience (specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail)

- El Segundo, CA: $94,300.00–$115,200.00
- Chantilly, VA: $94,300.00–$115,200.00
- King of Prussia, PA: $90,100.00–$110,200.00
- Columbia, MD: $90,100.00–$110,200.00
- Beavercreek, OH: $81,900.00–$100,100.00
- Clearfield, UT: $77,900–$95,200.00
- San Antonio, TX: $81,900.00–$100,100.00
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s work location, knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, clearance level, contract affordability, and internal parity. KBR may offer additional compensation such as bonuses, commissions, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
