JR NETWORK ENGINEER
Amentum is seeking a Junior Network Engineer for a position on Kauai, HI, providing entry-level network support for engineering design, security, administration, and organization of classified and unclassified PMRF mission-specific networks.
Responsibilities
- Execute junior network engineering for Range Networks within the IT Department.
- Operate, maintain, and configure PMRF network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, IDS, IPS, and related infrastructure on classified and unclassified networks.
- Assist in daily review of audit logs and support resolution of event diagnosis data.
- Address routine network-centric Cyber Security scanning and configuration requirements using tools such as Eye Retina, DISA STIGS, SCAP, SRR scripts, and/or Nessus.
- Maintain 100% network device compliance with DoD-directed IAVM program(s) under guidance.
- Participate in successful RMF C&A Package submissions with supervision.
- Assist in preparing status reports, technical reports, and operational/maintenance procedures for management and customers.
- Follow the Configuration Management Plan for all hardware and software relevant to PMRF networks.
- Perform network asset/property accountability and license management within PMRF contract specifications.
- Support lab environment testing and buildouts with senior team members.
- Perform additional duties as required, including:
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling 25-50 lbs.
- Physical work positions: walking, standing, sitting, crawling, kneeling, or working in cramped spaces.
- Repeated stooping or frequent climbing.
- Customer contact, extended workdays, confined work areas, office/laboratory/field assignments, and exposure to inclement weather.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years’ experience in the specific field; advanced certifications or education may substitute for experience.
- Knowledge of IT systems, including Windows, RHEL, and comprehensive networking concepts (Cisco and/or Juniper certifications are a plus).
- Knowledge of Cyber Security methods and techniques is a plus.
- DOD 8570.1M IAT Level I certification.
- Professional and ethical standards; ability to pass a thorough background investigation.
- Critical thinking and proven problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to organize information effectively.
Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US Government Clearance. US Citizenship is required. Applicants must either currently possess a Top Secret clearance or undergo a US Government Security Investigation to meet eligibility requirements prior to employment. Clearance must be maintained for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout employment.
Pay
$75,000 – $90,000 per year. Actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
