Jr Field Estimator
About the role
The Junior Field Estimator will be responsible for accurately taking measurements in the field, determining the scope of work, and delivering that information to the team in a timely and organized manner. Over time, you may also be trained on and tasked with bid take-offs and bid requests, presenting your findings to the project analyst.
Responsibilities
- Meet with on-site contacts and gather information for the sales team
- Taking and recording precise in-field measurements for projects
- Reviewing architectural plans/documents and understanding the scope of work to bid
- Gathering information and fearlessly asking questions of clients, representatives, vendors, colleagues, and management when information is unclear
- Ensuring all correct information is gathered (Construction Schedule, Timeline for Bid Selection, Timeline for Installation, Material, Decision Makers, etc.)
- Building long-lasting relationships with trade partners, general contractors, architects, vendors, and representatives
- Determining ALL scopes of work, as applicable to company offerings and services from take-offs
- Gathering product data information, samples, and correct data required for submittals
- Inputting information into spreadsheets, estimating/invoicing software, and preparing written proposals
- Relaying and informing managers of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or project
- Developing and maintaining resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
- Attending pre-bid and sales meetings as required
- Requesting Bid Tab upon selection of Won/Lost projects
