Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive construction cost estimates for a variety of building projects, including educational facilities, healthcare, commercial spaces, and public agency developments
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs and develop cost estimates using established construction management methodologies
• Assist the CM team in evaluating project delivery methods, reviewing constructability, and identifying value engineering opportunities
• Review blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to accurately calculate material, labor, and equipment costs
• Assist in bid leveling, trade contractor scope reviews, and the validation of contractor and subcontractor pricing
• Analyze and evaluate construction change orders and track project budget variations during the construction phase
• Collaborate with senior estimators, construction managers, and clients to ensure alignment on budget and scope

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of direct construction estimating experience, specifically within a construction management or general contracting environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution
• Proficiency in industry-standard estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, RSMeans, Timberline) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
• Strong understanding of building construction methods, materials, project sequencing, and local New York market pricing
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders
