Primary Duties
- Assist with entering and maintaining litigation deadlines in the firm's docketing/calendaring system - CourtAlert across multiple offices
- Aid in updating case information, attorney assignments, and case lists
- Help prepare reports and deadline summaries
- Review pleadings, notices, and orders to identify deadlines
- Organize and distribute information related to court calls
- Support training efforts by documenting procedures and workflows
- Draft, edit, and file pleadings and discovery with State and Federal Courts and Administrative Agencies
- Schedule meetings and conference calls
- Copy, scan, and save documents to file
Requirements
- Very strong understanding of the litigation process and Federal, State, and Local court rules and procedures
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, MS Excel, and MS Office, including Outlook
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Working well in a congenial office environment
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of legal experience
- Background in docketing or litigation support and administration
- Professional communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
- Can follow procedures and ask questions when unsure
- Paralegal certificate or other legal education is a plus
