About the Role
This position involves performing critical operations to protect craft and boats during destructive weather events with minimal notice. The role also includes supporting mooring operations, preventative and corrective maintenance, and specialized maritime tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform destructive weather operations to protect craft and boats during gales, storms, hurricanes, and other severe weather conditions.
- Support mooring of craft and boats in the boathouse facility, boat storage, or mooring in the bay.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on PSC aluminum hulls, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems or components, both at sea and in port, in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications.
- Plan, conduct, and document all preventative PSC equipment maintenance.
- Develop a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule and provide annual recommendations for repair or upgrade, including engine maintenance and corrosion control.
- Perform corrective maintenance or repairs on failing or failed PSC hulls (aluminum, fiberglass, and inflatable), mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems, including disassembly, inspection, replacement, refurbishment, reassembly, and testing.
- Conduct side scan sonar operations, oceanographic equipment deployment and recovery, ROV operations, on-station monitoring, guard duty, and deployment/recovery of live or inert mines and test instrumentation.
- Follow computer-generated track lines while towing sonars or other towed systems and accurately hold station during subsea equipment deployment/recovery using the vessel’s crane.
- Provide surface craft support for divers, including line-tending, maintaining surface-supplied air equipment, and assisting divers into and out of the water.
- Ensure boat safety, certification, and inspection for hull integrity, SOLAS equipment, AED, EPIRB, and firefighting equipment.
Requirements
- Current United States Coast Guard 100 Ton Master license.
- Training and currency in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) operation, and First Aid.
- Active Secret security clearance.
Pay
Hourly salary: $25.60
