Jr Art Director (Contract / Freelance)

About the role

We are seeking experienced Mid - Senior Designers, professionally trained with a degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Product / UI UX, BFA or similar.

Responsibilities

• Create and refine creative briefs for AI prompts and design evaluations.
• Evaluate AI-generated outputs and provide detailed critiques.
• Iterate and refine designs through multiple rounds of prompting and feedback.
• Adapt prompting techniques and evaluation approaches based on feedback.
• Vote and rank for preference data to help train models on what "great" looks like.
• Design from scratch, including brand guidelines, design systems, decks, and visual assets across various styles and mediums.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional design experience.
• Strong experience creating briefs (prompts).
• Extensive experience conducting structured high-level design briefs.
• Experience providing design feedback and direction.
• Extensive experience in various design disciplines such as web, product, slides, brand, gaming, etc.
• Ability to ideate and execute creative briefs in the form of prompting.
• Proficiency in remote work and flexible engagement.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Product / UI UX, BFA or similar.
• Mastery across various types of assets and mediums from print to digital.
• Hands-on experience ideating and putting creative ideas onto paper.
• Strong analytical storytelling skills - both in creative output and in briefs, creative direction, and instruction.
• Experience giving design feedback in a professional setting.
• Knowledge of design principles and ability to provide actionable feedback.

Skills

• Proficiency in remote work and flexible engagement.
• Experience in various design disciplines such as web, product, slides, brand, gaming, etc.
• Ability to ideate and execute creative briefs in the form of prompting.

Pay

Mid to Senior level designers typically will fall in the average of 45 - 80/hr for candidates in the United States.

Schedule

All work is asynchronous and can be done on your own time. We set deliverables and you pick your schedule.
