About the role
Assists in the operation of a facility. Performs routine preventive maintenance, major and minor repairs, and additional job-related responsibilities as assigned or necessary.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures by following established schedules and guidelines.
- Inspects, cleans, and repairs facilities, equipment, or fixtures; documents signs of wear and tear.
- Gathers capital expense information and recommends repair or replacement needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs.
- Documents preventive maintenance and repair activities.
- Performs major and minor repairs using multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment).
- Diagnoses issues using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs; utilizes hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment.
- Provides prompt response to emergency calls.
- Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information (e.g., expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs).
- Conducts price comparisons, orders parts and replacement equipment, tracks orders, records purchases and usage, and submits warranty claims.
- Complies with OSHA and EPA regulations and ensures quality work that meets federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensures contractors follow Walmart quality standards, safety requirements, and contract requirements; identifies and reports deficiencies.
- Unloads, stores, and transports equipment between facilities.
- Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Follows safety procedures, responds to work orders, completes documentation, and communicates with managers, coworkers, customers, and business partners.
- Maintains a safe work environment by observing and adhering to all safety policies and procedures; reports violations to management.
- Ensures assigned equipment, tools, safety items, vehicles, and trailers are maintained in proper working order.
- Participates in an on-call rotation (approximately every 4–6 weeks) to support business-critical needs outside standard business hours.
- Maintains vehicles in working mechanical and cleanliness condition; coordinates required maintenance and submits invoices for payment.
- Safely operates motor vehicles and ensures they have all required documents; checks fuel, water, brakes, signals, and lights.
- Operates, inspects, and maneuvers heavy machinery and powered equipment (e.g., forklifts, material handling equipment) in accordance with training, certification, and safety procedures.
- Performs pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment safety and functionality.
- Leads and participates in teams by sharing resources, information, and tools; coordinates work assignments and provides feedback.
- Develops and implements processes to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, coworkers, and business partners.

Requirements
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
- 2 years’ experience in the plumbing trade.
- Licensed Journeyman Plumber or equivalent in good standing in the state of work.
- License in related trade in city and/or state of work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical trade program.
- Experience using intermediate-level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00 - $63.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances (e.g., based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed). Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

- Participates in an on-call rotation approximately every 4–6 weeks to support business-critical needs outside standard business hours.
