Responsibilities
- Cook up, install, and repair plumbing and heating systems.
- Coordinate tasks with subcontractors and other project members.
- Create and manage schedules for plumbing and piping systems.
- Adjust work sequences to fit construction deadlines.
- Manage materials to ensure timely completion of work.
- Read blueprints and interpret specifications.
- Handle punch-list items and distribute accordingly.
- Plan work to optimize manpower and resource usage.
- Inspect work-in-progress and completed work for compliance.
- Ensure customer needs are met by general contractors, owners, and employees.
- Inform superintendents and project managers of production and schedule issues.
- Assist project managers and superintendents with problems or questions.
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings.
- Coach and mentor lower-level workers to improve their skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- 5 years of commercial experience in field plumbing or heating operations.
- Prior shop experience is a plus.
- A stable work history.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of plumbing and piping installation.
- Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to do take-offs.
- Ability to install equipment.
- Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.
- Good math skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyman license.
- Trade school education is a plus.
- Willingness to obtain additional trade licenses and/or certifications.
Physical Requirements
- Eyesight correctable to 20/50.
- Able to work long hours on feet.
- Able to lift and climb ladders and scaffolds.
- Able to perform shift work.
- Able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must not be afraid of heights.
Special Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Own basic hand tools.
- Able to operate heavy machinery.
- OSHA 10 certificate.
