About the role
KEP Electric, a subsidiary of IES Residential, is seeking experienced Journeyman Plumbers for a project in Defiance, Ohio. The position requires a strong background in residential plumbing construction, including underground and rough-in installations, top-out, and trim-out plumbing.
Responsibilities
- Install plumbing systems, piping, fixtures, and equipment in residential construction projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plumbing drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Test plumbing systems for leaks and proper operation.
- Coordinate work activities with project managers, superintendents, builders, inspectors, and other trades.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and perform corrective work as needed.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow OSHA safety requirements and company safety policies at all times.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Journeyman Plumber License, where required by state or local jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 3 years of residential plumbing construction experience.
- Experience in single-family, multifamily, or production residential construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and installation practices.
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and productivity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in production homebuilding and multifamily construction environments.
- Experience leading crews or mentoring apprentices.
- Medical gas certification is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Work Environment
- Work primarily on active single-family and multifamily residential construction sites.
- Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, noise, and construction-related hazards.
- Regular use of ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and power tools.
- Daily travel to job sites throughout the service area.
- Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required to meet project schedules.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the workday.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and plumbing equipment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions while maintaining safety standards.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks while maintaining quality and productivity.
