About the Role

GMS is seeking an experienced Project Pipe Fitter to support active mechanical projects across Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia. This role supports installation, modification, and repair work on commercial and government facilities, requiring strong technical ability, strict adherence to safety standards, and the discipline to meet project schedules and quality expectations.

Work locations include the Baltimore/Annapolis Corridor.

Responsibilities

• Installing, assembling, and maintaining piping systems for HVAC and mechanical applications, including screw pipe, copper, welded piping, and specialty mechanical systems found in commercial buildings, federal environments, data centers, laboratories, military bases, and industrial facilities.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Understanding HVAC systems such as chilled water, heating water, steam, condenser water, refrigerant piping, and gas piping.
• Familiarity with installation requirements for valves, pumps, strainers, hangers, supports, vibration isolation components, and other related equipment.
• Performing pressure testing, flushing, and system commissioning support.
• Field coordination with project managers, foremen, and other trades.

Requirements

• MD/VA/DC Journeyman HVAC license.
• CFC Universal certification.
• OSHA-10 or 30 Safety training.
• Clean personal record, driving record, and background.
• Solid past performance.

Pay

$51.13/hour (affiliated with Local 486).
