About the Role

We are looking for a Cross Journeyman Painter who possesses an advanced painting skill set and takes initiative on the work site. You will foresee project needs, work efficiently, select proper finishes, equipment, and techniques, and ensure high-quality results. Demonstrating a commitment to the trade through investment in tools is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Complete a cabinet job from start to finish, including numbering cabinets on site.
  • Know the proper color, coating method, and materials being used.
  • Understand wood finishing, refinishing wood, and species characteristics.
  • Apply proper phases of preparation and material usage, including stations and clear coats.
  • Prepare all interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Complete touch-ups on or off-site at the Paint Shop.
  • Answer questions from Painters as needed.
  • Anticipate, identify, and evaluate potentially dangerous or unusual situations; exercise appropriate judgment to establish priorities and resolve problems.
  • Review the To-Do list in JobTread and check off completed items.
  • Complete work within estimated labor hours.
  • Add or comment on a daily log of work performed, summarizing accomplishments and adding photos when available.
  • Create and submit a material list to the Project Manager before the end of the workday, when appropriate.
  • Act and communicate with curiosity, integrity, respect, accountability, and humility.
  • Exemplify CROSS Core Values and prevent hazardous and unsafe working conditions.

Requirements

  • Must possess all painter tools as outlined on the attached list.
  • Proficient in all Journeyman and Apprentice Painter skills.

Work Environment

  • Able to talk, hear, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Able to reach with hands and arms and use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel.
  • Endure exposure to outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures, loud noise, fumes, and moving machinery.
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds, with or without assistance.
  • Accept continuous changes in project type, location, and company systems as the company grows.

Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
