Job Description

Sought is a dependable Automotive Technician to bolster our esteemed fleet maintenance team. This role entails servicing a broad spectrum of equipment, encompassing delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from diverse manufacturers. These vehicles utilize propulsion systems like diesel, gasoline, compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electric in certain regions. Automotive Technicians are expected to excel in diagnosing and repairing various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Maintains compliance with Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) regulations as required by the job assignment.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting throughout the workday.
  • Sitting occasionally, as needed, throughout the workday.
  • Performs simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete tasks.
  • Operates standard and manual transmissions.
  • Operates power and pneumatic tools.

Requirements

  • Active driver's license issued by the state.
  • Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, and Tuesday through Saturday schedules, contingent upon location needs.
  • Required possession of the necessary hand tools for the job assignment.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
  • Experience utilizing diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers.
  • Possession of a full set of personal hand tools.
  • Ability to obtain State Certified Inspection License within 90 days of employment.
  • Dependable with the capability to report to work regularly and complete a full workday consistently.
  • Availability to work varied shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime based on service needs.
  • Wearing personal protective equipment as required.
  • Operating in an environment with fluctuating temperatures and humidity, exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, noise, and outdoor inclement weather.
  • Collaborating in a diverse work environment.
  • Communicating effectively through sight, hearing, and/or other means to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.

Compensation And Benefits

  • The starting hourly rate for this position is $37.07.
