JOURNEYMAN ET-TELEPHONE MAINT

Education/Experience

The Education/Experience requirement includes a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a technical training program, and five (5) years of experience as a Technician at the Journeyman level, including a minimum of 3 years on enterprise class telephone systems.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the predictive and preventive maintenance of Marta’s communication infrastructure equipment, telephone instruments, telephone and network wiring, public address systems and other related systems and equipment.
• Prepares all required maintenance reports, work orders, and labor time entry in accordance with Facilities Maintenance departmental protocol and Communications, Computer & Faregate Branch requirements.
• Performs software changes and equipment modifications to improve operating efficiency.
• Performs maintenance on the Solus and IP-7 Consoles, effectively utilizes FaSuite systems.
• Provides excellent customer service responding to complaints from customers (internal and external) within two days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of directly related work experience or Fiber Optic Association (FOA) certification, and repair of all telecommunications and enterprise network systems.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of directly related work experience, equivalent certification or degree in directly associated field of study.

Skills

• Skilled in the use of tools, machines, and diagnostic test equipment required to troubleshoot and maintain electronic/electrical systems and equipment.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of fiber optic repair and maintenance.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of audio visual engineering.
