Journeyman Engineer
About the role
The Journeyman Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of complex building systems. This position requires a highly skilled and versatile professional with deep expertise in automated building controls and the ability to perform a broad range of technical, mechanical, and trade-related tasks.
Responsibilities
- Possess a high degree of knowledge of automated building control systems
- Perform a wide variety of work requiring high skill levels and abilities, including but not limited to:
- Electricity
- Electronics
- Sheet metal work
- Welding
- Mechanics
- Machine shop work
- Hydraulics
- Plumbing
- Painting
- Ventilation work
- Carpentry
- Plastering
- Cement and masonry work
- Ceiling installation
- floor installation
- Motors
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Coursework/Training: Must have successfully completed extensive specialized training courses
- or
- Demonstrated ability and experience may be accepted in lieu of education
- 4 years of building control systems inspection, testing, repair and maintenance in a hospital environment
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Electronics, Mechanical Systems, Building Control Technology, HVAC, or similar field
