Journeyman Electrician Substation

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical, is seeking a full-time Journeyman Electrician for substation work in the South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri areas. A $3,500 hire bonus applies, and per diem is available as eligible.

About the role

Works under general direction of job foreman and other project supervisors. Travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform power and control wiring of substation equipment and the control house in accordance with project drawings, details, and electrical codes.
• Install substation equipment, conduit, and grounding.
• Perform or assist with other substation tasks such as welding, pipe bending, concrete forming and finishing, erection of steel structures, and material handling.
• Work from all types of ladders and personnel lifting equipment in accordance with safety standards.
• Comply with all company and customer safety policies and procedures.
• Complete other duties as directed.

Requirements

• Valid State Electrical Journeyman's license.
• High School diploma or GED.
• OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post-offer) drug test and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post-offer) background check when applicable per customer contract requirement.
