Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and test electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial settings.
  • Prepare work areas for installation of equipment.
  • Install or assist in installing electrical components according to code and job specifications.
  • Connect wiring and equipment as required.
  • Operate equipment only if trained and certified (e.g., powder-activated tools, JLG lifts).
  • Set up and operate tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers, and cable vacuum systems.
  • Read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances per drawings or plans.
  • Secure and lock up equipment after use.

Requirements

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license in Texas or Oklahoma.
  • Valid State Driver’s License.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Good attendance and punctuality.
  • Self-motivated and able to work from descriptions and blueprints.
  • Experience and proficiency in running electrical conduit with precision.
  • Layout capabilities.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with other craftsmen.
  • Dependable, hardworking, and committed to completing projects from start to finish.

Physical Demands

  • Work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
  • Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, respirator when required).
  • Work 8–10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, with overtime and night shifts as required.
  • Frequent crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching.
  • Routinely lift heavy objects over 50 pounds, push, and pull objects.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Physical work constitutes more than 70% of the job.
