Journeyman Electrician

PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating oil refineries and related facilities. We are seeking a talented Journeymen Electrician to join our team at Torrance Refining Company in Torrance, CA.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems
• Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers
• Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools
• Apply knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), state codes, and local codes to daily work
• Demonstrate proficiency in the safe operation of power tools and test equipment
• Read, write, and understand electrical blueprints and wiring diagrams
• Troubleshoot and repair substation switchgear, Motor Control Center (MCC), motors, and lights
• Bend and install conduits for circuits and controls
• Pull wire and connect circuits
• Read and interpret schematic drawings (primary and secondary single line drawings)
• Work with diagnostic and test equipment such as voltmeter, ammeter, and megger
• Perform electrician tasks without direct supervision
• Provide direction to temporary electrical contractors
• Understand and demonstrate knowledge of three-phase and control circuitry
• Perform all job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• 5+ years of electrical-related experience
• Journeyman-level electrician
• At least 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate’s trade school degree in Electrical Technology OR five (5) years equivalent experience in a refinery or industrial facilities
• Ability to work while wearing a variety of Personal Protective Equipment
• Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and shop or vendor drawings
• Ability to climb, bend, lift, and perform a wide range of physical activities in all weather conditions
• Willing and able to work overtime, various shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
• Ability to work alone as well as function as a team member
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated with a willingness to acquire and utilize new and/or additional skills
• Ability to work in inclement weather at times

Preferred Qualifications

• California state electrical license

This position is subject to federally mandated drug/alcohol testing.

Pay

$52.82/hour
