Journeyman Electrician

About the role
Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as injection molding, compression molding, mixing, milling and extruding machines.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance to injection molding, compression molding, mixing, milling and extruding machines.
- Repair auxiliary equipment such as mold heaters, ovens, loaders, spoolers, pumps, and parts conveyors by dismantling, cleaning and replacing worn or defective parts and assemblies.
- Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove and replace any defective parts.
- Work cross functionally with Process/Automation Engineers and Technicians to develop new machines and make process improvements.
- Support continuous improvement through LEAN and HPT.
- May be required to research part availability and initiate purchase order for needed repair parts.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair on all equipment related to Injection Molding, Compression Molding, and Extruders.
- Perform building maintenance as required.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Must possess High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Active Massachusetts Journeyman or Master electrician license preferred.
- Active Massachusetts 2nd Class Fireman License or 3rd Class Engineer license preferred.
- Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, basic electrical, and PLC logic is preferred.
- Must have good mechanical skills, troubleshooting ability.
- Strong communication skills, written as well as verbal.
- Must be a US Citizen or have US Permanent Resident Status.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.
Pay
Pay Range: $23.50/hr to $38.50/hr
