About the role
Our Electrical Technicians are responsible for the operations, maintenance, and repair of facilities systems, including UPS systems, central air handling units, exhaust systems, steam systems, and air compressors at a world-class chemical sciences research campus. This position is an integral member of the team managing daily, routine, and emergency operations to ensure 100% uptime of all systems.
Responsibilities
- On-site installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshooting and repairing common commercial building electrical equipment, including frequency drives, PLCs, motor control, and 480-volt industrial systems.
- Monitoring, routine, and emergency response for facilities systems.
- Reading technical training manuals and following procedures.
- Reading and working from blueprints, schematic diagrams, and specification manuals.
- Experience with Siemens and/or Honeywell building automation systems is a plus.
- Installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment, including frequency drives and 4-20mA or 0-10V control systems.
Requirements
- Two-year degree or trade school certificate in electrical or instrumentation.
- Five years minimum of industrial electrical experience in installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.
