Journeyman Electrician

About the role

The Journeyman Electrician will plan layouts, install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. They will also mentor and develop Apprentice Electricians, promoting FSG's core values of excellent customer service and safety.

Responsibilities

• Plan layouts and installations to minimize waste and ensure safe, functional wiring.
• Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
• Repair faulty equipment or systems.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
• Advise management on potential hazards related to equipment operation.
• Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to comply with regulations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
• Three to five years of electrical construction experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Positive customer service skills.

Skills

• Knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in electrical installation and repair techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams.
