Journeyman Electrician

About the role
Primary work location is Hastings, NE with travel to Grand Island, NE and York, NE. Additional sourcing areas include Doniphan, Juniata, Clay Center, Aurora, Sutton, Harvard, Kenesaw, Glenvil, Wood River, Henderson, Phillips, and Inland (approximately 45-minute commute). Open to candidates within 60 miles of Hastings or those willing to relocate.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in residential, commercial, industrial, and multi-family settings
- Read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings
- Apply NEC (National Electrical Code) and OSHA safety standards
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform trade calculations
- Lead projects and work independently
- Maintain jobsite safety and adhere to local electrical codes
Requirements
- Nebraska State Journeyman Electrician License or qualifying reciprocal license
- 1-5+ years of electrical construction experience
- Strong knowledge of NEC, local electrical codes, and OSHA standards
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings
- Experience with electrical materials, equipment, and installation methods
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and lead projects
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial electrical construction experience
- Foreman or job-running/project leadership experience
- Crew supervision and apprentice mentoring experience
- Customer-facing experience
- Large commercial project experience
- Experience coordinating schedules and field operations
Pay
$35.00 - $43.00 per hour. Additional compensation includes up to $5,000 hiring bonus (based on experience), performance incentive program, and higher earning potential for Foreman/job-running experience.
