Journeyman Electrician

About the role

Applied Digital is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to support operations at our advanced data center facility. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems to ensure operational continuity, safety, and code compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial or industrial environments and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including panels, conduit, lighting, motors, and control circuits.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues involving breakers, generators, UPS systems, and other high-demand equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE usage.
• Ensure work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
• Accurately document maintenance activities and material usage.
• Support electrical components of expansion or upgrade projects.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency electrical issues when necessary.

Requirements

• Valid Journeyman Electrician License (State of [Insert State] or reciprocal).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical systems.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC and electrical safety practices.
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments (indoors/outdoors, hot/cold, confined spaces).

Qualifications

• Experience in data centers, hospitals, or other mission-critical facilities.
• Familiarity with medium- and low-voltage systems.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Basic computer skills (email, work order systems, etc.).

Physical Requirements

Able to remain in a seated position for an extended period and to lift and carry up to 15 lbs. (office manuals, case notebooks, case files, case materials, standard boxes, report binders, etc.) as needed.
