Basic Qualifications

  • Active TX ID or DLMust have a valid TX Journeyman TDLR LicenseSocial Security CardToolsReliable Transportation

Qualifications/Responsibilities

  • Work on and around high voltage energized equipmentInstall various types of Electrical Conduit systems according to NECSetup and maintain temporary power systemsInstall and maintain grounding systems for all equipment and structuresTest electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings according to specificationsCut, bend, and run conduit as specified on blueprintsInstall junction boxes, panels, switches, plugs and fixturesTerminate wires and cables to electrical equipment, such as, but not limited to, breakers, control panels, and distribution systemsCommunicate and work under the direct Supervisor/Foreman (Licensed Journeyman and/or Master Electrician)Work well under pressure particularly when faced with unexpected events, delays, tight timelines, or urgent demandsAbility to work well with others - team playerKnowledgeable about building a serviceMust be reliable, accountable, and consistent in performing assigned tasksMust be willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulationsDetail oriented, results driven individualKnowledgeable with all electrical equipment and hand toolsMust be able to handle a physical workloadMust have own tools and reliable transportationAmbition to want to grow within the companyMust have good organizational skills and ability to handle administrative functionsMust know CenterPoint Standards

Physical Requirements

  • Physical Stamina: Be able to work long hours, often standing, bending, or kneeling for extended periodsStrength and Dexterity: Jobs often involve lifting heavy equipment and materials (50lb+), so good upper body strength is important. Manual dexterity is also crucial for handling tools and wiringFlexibility: Be able to work in various positions and environments, including tight spaces, high places, and sometimes in awkward positionsGood Vision: Have excellent vision, including color vision, is necessary to identify different wires and componentsCoordination: Have good hand-eye coordination for precise work with electrical components and toolsBalance: Be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, or in elevated positions requires good balance to ensure safety
