Main Responsibilities
- Fundamentals of Construction
- Thorough knowledge of building codes.
- Understand related general trade work.
- Complete daily/weekly timecards accurately.
- Have geometry and math skills for calculating volume, angles, etc.
- Complex Plan Reading
- Interpret plans.
- Identify electrical, mechanical, and other details.
- Identify potential problems and ask pertinent questions.
- Layout complete buildings, including ceilings, floors, walls, and related trades.
- Building Skills
- Concrete/form work skills.
- Plumbing/leveling skills to frame walls and for specialty framing.
- Trim work skills: interior, exterior, built-ins, including unorthodox and unique details.
- Install, repair, and replace all types of doors, windows, cabinets, and appliances.
- Install, repair, and adjust all door, window, and cabinet hardware.
- Knowledge of roof framing, stair and soffit framing and deck building.
- Knowledge of proper flashing details and waterproof membrane installation.
- Safety
- Understand and comply with OSHA standards for job site safety.
- Model safety behavior and practices always.
- Wear safety clothing, gloves, eye and hearing protection, dust masks and other appropriate safety devices.
- Use all power tools in a safe manner.
- Maintain personal tools in safe working order.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- A 3-4 year carpentry apprenticeship plus a minimum of 4 years’ experience in residential construction OR 7+ years’ experience in residential construction.
- Must own hand tools common to the trade.

- Ability to read and interpret plans.

- Physical strength and stamina, ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50lbs.
- Manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination, ability to handle, feel, lift, operate, and move objects, tools, or controls.
- Strong reading and math skills.
- Excellent vision and depth perception.
- Ability to work in a construction environment.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, dig, go up and down stairs and ladders, crouch, crawl, and lay down.
- Exposure to heat and/or cold, and inclement weather.
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
