Journeyman Carpenter

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform construction, maintenance, and repair of structural systems including walls, doors, roofs, floors, ceilings, partitions, and frameworks.
  • Install, repair, or replace building components such as drywall, insulation, siding, trim, cabinetry, windows, and hardware.
  • Execute rough carpentry including forms, framing, sheathing, and structural reinforcement.
  • Inspect and diagnose structural issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on facility structures in accordance with contract and base standards.
  • Perform emergency repairs as required to maintain facility safety and operability.
  • Prepare worksite, review work orders, and complete required documentation and reporting.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and carpentry equipment.
  • Cookoperate with other trades (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing) in support of multi-discipline maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and secure work areas in compliance with OSHA and base requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum five years’ experience working as a carpenter.
  • Active Journeyman Carpenter certification.
  • US Citizen, with a valid REAL ID or U.S. Passport.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle tools and perform repairs.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Able to squat, lift, sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Pass a company background check and motor vehicle record review.
