We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman tradesperson in the electrical construction field. You will have completed a recognized apprenticeship program and gained significant practical experience, enabling you to independently perform complex tasks, supervise and train apprentices, interpret drawings, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Execute skilled tasks such as installing, repairing, maintaining, or upgrading electrical systems, equipment, or structures according to project specifications and trade standards.
  • Read and interpret drawings, technical drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and ensure accuracy and compliance with design plans.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, guidelines, and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment; promote and enforce safety practices among team members and apprentices.
  • Independently perform assigned tasks and projects with precision, efficiency, and high-quality workmanship, following established procedures and best practices.
  • Identify and diagnose complex issues, faults, or malfunctions in systems or equipment; apply critical thinking to determine root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards; stay updated on changes and implement them in your work.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and training to apprentices or less experienced workers, sharing knowledge and expertise to help them develop their skills.
  • Maintain and care for tools, equipment, and machinery, ensuring they are clean, organized, and in good working condition; report faulty or damaged equipment for repair or replacement.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including completed tasks, materials used, time spent, and necessary documentation; prepare reports as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders; communicate professionally and provide updates on project progress, issues, and resolutions.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in electrical or a related trade.
  • Journeyman certification or relevant trade license.
  • Extensive experience and expertise in the electrical trade, typically acquired through several years of practical work.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical systems, components, construction practices, tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Ability to interpret electrical design drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
  • TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) may be required.
  • Ability to meet the cut score on the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Skill Assessment.

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly.
  • Must be on feet on hard surfaces, such as concrete, for 8+ hours per day on a regular basis.
  • Able to traverse in all weather conditions and work in extreme temperatures.
  • Position requires the ability to stand, squat, and reach continuously through the shift.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to exercise precaution in the handling of tools and equipment.
  • May be exposed to dust, fumes, and odoriferous working conditions.
  • Crouch, kneel, bend, or stand for long periods of time.
  • Work outside during inclement weather.
  • Be subject to motor or machine noise.
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with electrical construction practices and terminology.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of construction industry regulations and best practices.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and paid weekly. The Company reserves the right to adjust pay ranges based on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
