Responsibilities
- Perform service of equipment including inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality
- Inspect and test systems to verify functionality including but not limited to chillers, fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
- Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring
- Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
- Perform intermediate and advanced independent diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing of commercial HVAC equipment
- Conduct warranty service application by independently inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of all commercial HVAC equipment
- Lead and participate in the rebuild and retrofit of commercial HVAC level units including the direction of apprentice level technicians through hands-on demonstration of the necessary steps
- Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
- Download programs into commercial HVAC equipment and Micro controllers and analyze chiller trend data to ensure optimal performance
- Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, and off-site learning modules
- Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
- Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
- Complete jobsite hazard assessment prior to initiating service and adhere to Daikin Applied and customer safety policies and OSHA guidelines
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- An associates degree or technical school HVAC certification (preferred)
- 5+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Accepted as Journeyman by the union
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
- Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required
- Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians
- EPA approved Universal Technician Certification (preferred)
- OSHA 10 certification (preferred)
- Current first aid / CPR card (preferred)
