Journey Electrician 2026-00081

Essential Functions

• Perform electrical inspection, troubleshooting, design, installation, alteration, and repair of main and branch circuits of interior and exterior electrical systems.
• Work on all phases of electrical distribution systems, repairs, and replacement of components on a large number of complex electronically and digitally controlled systems, both interior and exterior.
• Contact outside vendors for parts, technical assistance, repairs, and installations.
• Schedule tests, make repairs, and file reports to meet national fire alarm code standards and other Wyoming State authorities.
• Repair and replace power distribution panels, light fixtures, switches, receptacles, heating, and cooling motors, compressors, emergency generators, and electrical parts for HVAC systems, fire suppression systems, and electronic/digital controls.
• Calculate loads for electrical equipment and design the installation to meet or exceed the National Electric Code and any requirements by the state of Wyoming.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs; assess conditions of system components to determine estimated useful life, suitability, efficiency, and repairs needed to meet industry norms.
• Assist with general construction activities, including work on HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and other skilled trades operations as directed.
• Maintain generators, transfer switches, and components of emergency systems.

Qualifications

• PREFERENCES: Preference will be given to applicants with a Wyoming Journeyman Electrician License and three (3) or more years of electrical experience.
• REQUIRED: Required to obtain/maintain a Driver's License.
• REQUIRED: Required to obtain/maintain Federal Security Clearance.
• KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of National, State, and Local electrical codes; knowledge of basic electrical, heating, and air conditioning; knowledge of the application of electrical and other test equipment; knowledge of basic construction and renovation standards, methods, and practices.
• EDUCATION: Minimum qualifications: As required by the licensing board, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Journeyman's Electrician License.
