Joule Technical AI Architect/Developer (Technical FDE)

Role Summary: We are looking for a Joule Technical AI Architect/Developer who embeds directly with the functional team to rapidly build and integrate Joule capabilities. Owns the technical build for POCs and production deployments.

Responsibilities

• Work on-site or embedded with functional teams to rapidly prototype and build Joule integrations
• Build and deploy POCs quickly, iterating directly with business users
• Own technical delivery from POC through production deployment
• Develop custom Joule skills, APIs, and connectors as needed
• Partner with the functional specialist to translate configured skills into robust technical implementations
• Identify AI solutions that can leverage SAP AI Core, SAP BTP, Joule, AI agents, RAG, Knowledge Graphs, vector databases, MCP, tool calling, evaluation frameworks, and AI observability
• Define reusable engineering patterns, reference architectures, golden paths, CI/CD standards, and deployment governance for enterprise AI delivery
• Define requirements for custom Joule Skills, Joule Agents, workflows, integrations, and data sources
• Compose existing Joule and SAP BTP capabilities into tailored solutions rather than rebuilding from scratch, focusing effort on the architecture and features that create the most business impact
• Document technical architecture and hand off supportable solutions to IT
• Keep IT informed of technical decisions, dependencies, and risks

Skills

• Hands-on experience with SAP Joule, Joule Studio 2.0, Joule Skills, and Joule Agents, along with SAP BTP and MCP Server concepts and architectures
• API development and integration experience, including REST and event-driven patterns
• Understanding of SAP business processes (Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, HR, etc.)
• Experience with SAP APIs, OData services, CDS views, and event-driven architectures
• Experience building enterprise GenAI applications - Prompt engineering, LLM orchestration frameworks, LangChain, LangGraph
• Experience with RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) - Document ingestion pipelines, Chunking and embeddings, Semantic search, Context management
• Experience with vector databases SAP HANA Cloud vector engine, Pinecone, Weaviate, etc
• Experience with AI agents multi-agent systems, agent orchestration, workflow automation, etc
• Experience with Knowledge Graphs Entity relationships, semantic modeling, graph databases, etc

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
