About the role

Hawaiian Building Maintenance is a full-service asset services partner operating in the Hawaiian Islands since 1957. We provide janitorial building services, mechanical engineering, HVAC and maintenance services, restoration services, and other support across various property types.

Responsibilities

• Custodian, Floater, or Mobile Workforce Technician 1: Perform general cleaning tasks, maintain facilities, and assist with other building support services.
• Custodian Lead or Site Supervisor: Supervise custodial staff, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and coordinate maintenance activities.
• Maintenance Apprentice: Learn and perform basic maintenance tasks under supervision, gain skills in various areas of building support.
• Maintenance Technician and Maintenance Floater: Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, troubleshoot equipment, and assist with facility improvements.
• HVAC Technician: Install, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Pool Attendant: Maintain swimming pools, ensure safety standards are met, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Assistant Chief Engineer: Assist in managing maintenance operations, oversee projects, and provide technical guidance.
• Chief Engineer: Manage all maintenance operations, oversee projects, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• For Maintenance Apprentice: Completion of a relevant apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
• For Maintenance Technician and Maintenance Floater: High school diploma or equivalent, and completion of a relevant training program or certification.
• For HVAC Technician: Relevant education and/or certification in HVAC technology.
• For Chief Engineer: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to perform the required tasks, including lifting and climbing.

Skills

• General building maintenance skills.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems and plumbing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Basic computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Pay

• Custodian, Floater, or Mobile Workforce Technician 1: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour.
• Custodian Lead or Site Supervisor: $23.00 per hour.
• Maintenance Apprentice: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour.
• Maintenance Technician and Maintenance Floater: $20.00 to $26.00 per hour.
• HVAC Technician: Up to $30.00 per hour.
• Pool Attendant: $18.00 per hour.
• Assistant Chief Engineer: $80,000.00 - $81,000.00 per year.
• Chief Engineer: $95,000.00 - $101,000.00 per year.

Schedule

Hours vary based on the specific role and location, but generally include a mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts.
