About the role

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Johns Hopkins Health System is seeking a dynamic Registered Nurse to join our team. This position offers flexible, temporary roles within a supportive and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to cardiac and pulmonary patients requiring ventilator support.
• Adhere to nurse-to-patient ratios: PCU 1:4, IMC 1:3 (ventilator experience required).
• Participate in float assignments across PCU, IMC, and Med-Surg units.
• Facilitate and coordinate programs involving hospital inpatients, outpatients, families, community members, and employees.
• Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to enhance patient care quality, safety, and clinical excellence.
• Initiate and participate in research activities relevant to the specialty area.
• Implement and manage specialty-specific initiatives as directed by nursing and medical leadership.
• Foster a clinical environment that prioritizes service excellence.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of PCU/IMC experience.
• Ventilator experience required.
• Proficiency in EPIC.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Maryland.
• Passing score on the NCLEX-RN.
