Job Title: Lead Commissioning Engineer - Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) – WHT’s Subsea Cable KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high‑profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Contractors Office/ Fabrication Yard Office in Abu Dhabi for some time and then will later move to Offshore Site on 6 weeks on/ 3 weeks off rotation. Job Purpose The Lead Commissioning Engineer - Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) is responsible for leading, planning, coordinating, and executing all Electrical and Instrumentation commissioning activities for offshore and onshore Oil & Gas projects. The role ensures the safe and efficient transition of systems from construction completion through pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, testing, and operational handover. The position provides technical leadership for electrical power systems, instrumentation, control systems, telecommunications, safety systems, and integrated automation systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, client requirements, applicable standards, and HSE regulations. Key Responsibilities Commissioning Leadership Lead Electrical and Instrumentation commissioning teams throughout project execution.Develop commissioning strategies, execution plans, schedules, procedures, and system completion programs.Ensure commissioning activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project objectives.Manage and coordinate commissioning engineers, supervisors, technicians, vendors, and subcontractors.Monitor commissioning progress and ensure achievement of project milestones. Pre-Commissioning Activities Lead system walkdowns and Mechanical Completion verification.Review and validate construction completion and turnover packages.Coordinate cable continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and loop checking activities.Verify system readiness prior to energization.Ensure punch lists are identified, tracked, and closed in a timely manner.Support preservation and reinstatement of electrical and instrumentation systems. Job Summary We are looking for a specialized Quality Engineer with deep expertise in AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI). This position focuses on compiling, verifying, and supporting the creation of comprehensive FAI reports for detail parts, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. You will work directly with Quality Engineers to map engineering drawing characteristics, perform the required physical inspections, and ensure full alignment with regulatory and aerospace flow-down requirements. This position is in Middletown, Connecticut. Roles And Responsibilities Inspect sub-assemblies, final assemblies, and complex components to verify compliance with drawings and specifications.Measure and record dimensional data explicitly required for AS9102 Form 3 ballooning and reporting.Audit assembly layouts and mechanical fits using precision tools like calipers, micrometers, and thread gages.Collaborate with Quality Engineers to accelerate the completion, review, and sign-off of First Article packages.Ensure all customer flow-downs, process specifications, and assembly criteria are met. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of quality inspection experience in the aerospace industry.Proven expertise working directly with AS9102 FAI standards and documentation protocols.Competence in reading and interpreting complex assembly drawings and bill of materials (BOM).Experience using precision mechanical inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, functional gages).Ability to pass a technical interview and client evaluation if requested.al interview and client evaluation prior to project assignment.Must be a US citizen Preferred Qualifications Advanced knowledge of GD&T data reporting and validation.Strong familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and compliance.Experience with specialized quality data systems (e.g., Net-Inspect).Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 assembly and workmanship standards. Salary Range: $82,500 - $92,500 annually. Compensation may vary based on experience, education, skills, and other factors permitted by applicable law. This is a 6 month assignment with full benefits and possible extensions.
