“JOB: Seasonal Operational Support, RSK – apply by 15 Oct”

Richmond Soup Kitchen (RSK) provides a free, hot, takeaway food service in central Richmond during the winter months, open to anyone in need. The service, now in its sixth season, served 2,228 guests last winter and continues to grow.

About the role

The role keeps the operational heart of the service running smoothly by managing surplus food deliveries, stock and supplies, kitchen hygiene records, and ensuring volunteers and guests are supported by a well‑organised, safe, and reliable service each week. It is a hands‑on, practical position based on‑site at St John the Divine, working with the Managing Director and the volunteer team.

Responsibilities

• Manage surplus food deliveries and coordinate distribution.
• Maintain stock and supplies inventory.
• Record and monitor kitchen hygiene standards.
• Support volunteers and guests to ensure a safe, reliable service.
• Assist with induction and wind‑down activities at the season’s end.

Requirements

• Excellent organisational, communication and practical skills.
• Reliability and a passion for supporting the community.
• Ability to work on‑site and perform hands‑on tasks.
• Open to applicants of all backgrounds and experience levels.

Pay

£17 per hour.

Schedule

10 hours per week.

Term

Fixed‑term position starting between 26 October and 2 November 2026 and ending when the season concludes on 29 April 2027, with additional time for induction and wind‑down.
