Requirements

• Hold an active Oregon DPSST Police Officer certification or a current valid Police Officer certification from another state and been employed as a certified Police Officer.
• Meet the Oregon DPSST physical requirements and requirements of the department.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED and 1 year of work experience are required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job as those listed.
• Must be 21 years of age at time of hire.
• Meet physical standards as set by the Department of Public Safety on Standards and Training (DPSST).
• Current certified Police Officer in Oregon or another state with reciprocity.

Benefits

• Incentives available upon verification to Police Officers including: Associate Degree 2.5%, Bachelor Degree 5%, Second language 1.25%, DPSST Intermediate Certificate 2.5%, DPSST Advanced Certificate 4.0% (Associate and Bachelor Degree incentives are not cumulative).
• Signing Bonus: $1,000 at the time of hire for a Lateral Officer with meeting the qualified years of experience as a sworn, full-time officer.

Pay

• Base salary.
• Based on years worked as a sworn, full-time officer.
