Job Coach-Community Employment Training Specialist
About the role
Are you passionate about helping others achieve their goals and build independence? Starkey is seeking a Community Employment Specialist to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment within the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide training, supervision, and support to individuals participating in Supported Employment services.
- Aid individuals in developing job skills, workplace behaviors, communication skills, and social interactions necessary for successful employment.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with community employers.
- Cook up with employers regarding schedules, accommodations, workplace modifications, and job expectations.
- Maintain employment progress and provide ongoing coaching and support as needed.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals served while promoting independence and self-advocacy.
- Maintain required documentation and service records in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid Kansas driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
