About the role

The role involves performing basic nursing skills and serving under the direction and supervision of the practice physician, advanced practice professional, and/or registered nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms;
• Prepares for provider visits by obtaining initial information and vital signs;
• Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and availability of supplies;
• Auxiliaries with exams, procedures, and immunizations;
• Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed;
• Auxiliaries with patient examinations and procedures;
• Educates patients on follow-up expectations;
• Maintains quality control testing logs as required;
• Ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition;
• Auxiliaries patients with completion of medical documentation;
• Records test results in patient charts and contacts patients as necessary regarding tests;
• Thoroughly cleans and stocks each examination room weekly.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent;
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date;
• Current National Certification as CMA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program;
• One (1) year of healthcare experience.

• Auxiliaries patients with completion of medical documentation;
• Record test (lab, radiology, etc.) results in patient charts and contact patients as necessary regarding tests;
• Thoroughly clean and stock each examination room weekly.

Physical Requirements

• MEDIUM WORK - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly).
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach and be capable of normal rotation, standing and walking for an 8-12 hour shift.

Additional Job Description
