Jean Trimbach
About the role
Jean Trimbach, born in 1960, is the twelfth generation of the Trimbach family. He is the son of Bernard, the brother of Hubert Trimbach, the eleventh generation. Bernard's other son, Pierre, took over the winemaking in 1985 after his father. Jean Trimbach was educated in Colmar and attended college in Strasbourg, where he studied accounting and business for three years. After completing his year of military service with the Mountain Artillery in Grenoble in 1983, he spent nine months in the United States in 1984. During this time, he worked for six months with his importer, Seagram Chateau & Estate Wines Company in New York, and then spent three months each at Gundlach Bundschu in Sonoma and Sterling Vineyards in Napa, California. He also spent three months at Château Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux. Jean Trimbach joined the Trimbach company in 1985 and has since traveled extensively around the world, becoming deeply involved in the business.
