JavaScript Developer (React)

About the role

The Carboncopies Foundation is seeking an experienced React Developer to help build new features and improvements to a web-based tool for visualizing a science/technology roadmap. The goal of this roadmap visualization tool is to allow anonymous users to view all of the milestones required to achieve a research goal, including various kinds of information about each milestone. Success criteria include current researchers or labs, time/money cost estimates, and risks.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architecture, design, and development of the application
• Participate in weekly calls, emails, and team chats to discuss progress
• Work with other React developers to implement new features in the application frontend
• Troubleshoot and fix React issues
• Improve existing functionality in the frontend

Requirements

• 3 years of JavaScript experience and knowledge working with React or 1 year of experience in a full-time role working primarily with React development

Qualifications

At least 6 months (longer preferred)

Skills

• Experience with React
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

REMOTE UNPAID volunteer position

Schedule

1 hour weekly team meeting
1 hour weekly organization meeting
Approximately 15 - 20 hours / week with flexibility on scheduling options
