This remote software engineering role focuses on designing, developing, and enhancing modern applications using Java-based technologies. Responsibilities

• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and system design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Develop object-oriented software applications using Java.
• Build and enhance backend services and REST APIs using Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Develop modern frontend applications using ReactJS and component-based design approaches.
• Perform software requirements analysis, system integration activities, research, and technical design.
• Apply software engineering principles, standards, and methodologies to solve complex technical challenges.
• Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices by creating unit and integration tests throughout the development process.
• Support CI/CD workflows by contributing to automated build, testing, and deployment processes using tools such as Jenkins, Harness, or GitHub Actions.
• Design and integrate APIs, including RESTful endpoint architecture, versioning, and documentation using standards such as OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Work with data streaming technologies, including Kafka concepts such as producers, consumers, topics, and partitions.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business and operational goals.
• Provide technical expertise and contribute as a subject matter resource when needed.

Requirements

• Skilled software developer with experience building enterprise applications and a strong understanding of modern development practices.
• Proven experience developing object-oriented applications using Java.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot for backend development.
• Solid understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and best practices.
• Practical experience with Test-Driven Development, unit testing, and integration testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery workflows.
• Exposure to Kafka or similar data streaming platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to resolve complex technical issues.
• Able to apply technical standards and methodologies to support business objectives.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
