About the role
UST is seeking a Java Senior Engineer to join one of the leading financial services organizations in the US. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing and developing Java/J2EE applications, with expertise in front-end UI technologies and big data platforms.
Responsibilities
- Reviews technology requirements and business processes
- Codes, tests, debugs, and implements software solutions
- Provides engineering support in the development of technical capabilities and products
- Writes and implements efficient code
- Performs peer reviews on source code to ensure reuse, scalability, and adherence to best practices
- Participates in collaborative technical discussions focusing on software user experience, design, architecture, and development
- Performs demonstrations for client stakeholders on project features and sub features, utilizing the latest front-end and backend development technologies
- Supports production, troubleshoots issues, analyzes root causes, and resolves them
- Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility within time and cost constraints
- Convenes with customers regarding software system design and maintenance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding
- Preferred GCP certification
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
- 6+ years of experience in designing and developing Java/J2EE applications using frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring XD, and Hibernate
- Strong experience with front-end UI technologies, including JavaScript, React, AngularJS, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, HTML, and CSS
- Knowledge of Big data platforms such as Hadoop and Apache Spark
- Experience with Postgres/Oracle/MySQL/NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4J)
- DevOps experience and a solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience in continuous integration build tools (Jenkins, SonarQube, JIRA, Nexus, Confluence, GIT-BitBucket, Maven, Gradle, RunDeck)
- A solid understanding of security practices
- Experience in unit and automation testing (Jasmine, Protractor, JUnit)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, collaboration abilities, and the ability to work effectively with domain experts and technical experts in the team.
