Java Full Stack Developer (contract)

Location: Columbus, OH • Duration: 18 months • Work Engagement: W2 • Work Schedule: 3 days in office / 2 days remote

About the role

In this contingent resource assignment, you may:

• Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering.
• Review and analyze complex, multi-faceted, larger-scale or longer-term Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors.
• Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables.
• Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to complex, large-scale engineering initiatives with enterprise-wide impact.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable software solutions.
• Build middleware and integrations to connect systems and address platform limitations.
• Develop and maintain applications using Java (Spring Boot) and React.
• Architect and implement microservices-based solutions in a cloud environment.
• Integrate enterprise platforms (e.g., Workday, Verint) within the contact center ecosystem.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements.
• Establish and promote engineering standards, best practices, and modern development approaches.
• Review and analyze complex technical challenges and provide innovative solutions.
• Mentor team members and contribute to overall technical leadership.
• Support ongoing UI development and maintenance to reduce reliance on third-party vendors.

Requirements

• Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
• Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in software engineering and application development.
• Proficiency in:
  • Java
  • Spring Boot
  • React
  • Microservices architecture
  • Kafka
  • Cloud platforms (OCP / Cloud Foundry or similar)
• Proven ability to design and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Experience with Generative AI / LLMs, including building agent-based solutions (agentic AI) (preferred).
• Background in Contact Center Technology development (preferred).
• Experience building enterprise integrations across complex systems (preferred).
