Java Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Java Engineer to join our development team and support the design, development, troubleshooting, and maintenance of enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based enterprise applications.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and perform database operations using JDBC.
• Analyze application logs and troubleshoot production issues.
• Collaborate with developers and support teams to identify and resolve technical problems.
• Participate in application testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Support deployment and maintenance activities across development and production environments.
• Document technical solutions and follow development best practices.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Java.
• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with Java JDBC operations.
• Prominent experience analyzing application logs and debugging complex application issues.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Kafka or NATS.
• Experience with Jenkins, Splunk, Dynatrace, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Docker, Chef Infra, or Chef Habitat.
• Experience with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting (Bash, KSH).
• Familiarity with Jira.
• Experience working in enterprise financial services environments is a plus.
