Java Development Lead - Equity Finance - Vice President

Overview

Citi is a global bank with approximately 200 million customer accounts and operations in over 160 countries and jurisdictions. They offer a wide range of financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services, and wealth management. The Equity Finance Technology team seeks a development role for the Post Trade platform in Tampa.

What We Do / The Team

The Equity Finance Technology team is looking for a development role for the Post Trade platform in Tampa. The role involves working with technologists across different locations and delivering technical projects through agile methods.

Responsibilities

• Resolve a variety of high-impact problems and projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business and system processes, and industry standards.
• Provide expertise in your area and demonstrate advanced knowledge of applications programming, ensuring that application design aligns with the overall architecture blueprint.
• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop coding standards for testing, debugging, and implementation.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how various business areas, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to achieve business goals.
• Perform in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
• Serve as an adviser or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.
• Adapt priorities quickly as circumstances dictate and appropriately assess risk when making business decisions.
• Manage and implement successful projects, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of applications development.
• Work in a high-pressure environment and demonstrate flexibility to work with a global team, across geographies and time zones.
• Show strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage stakeholder expectations.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development roles.
• Extensive experience in system analysis and software application programming.
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development.
• Extensive development experience in Java, Kafka, SQL, and Git.
• Proven ability to perform Quality Assurance (QA).
• Flexibility to work in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.

Key Skills And Experience Required

• Extensive development experience in Java, Kafka, SQL, and Git.
• Proven ability to perform Quality Assurance (QA).
• Flexibility to work in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.
