About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the back-end services that power the Medicare Provider Portal and the ApacheCamel-based integration applications. Your work will involve delivering secure, high-performance code that aligns with healthcare compliance standards and quality benchmarks. You will serve as a technical liaison between business stakeholders and the development team, translating requirements into reliable, test-driven solutions. Collaborating closely with product owners, QA, and operations teams, you will ensure that solutions are aligned with organizational goals and industry standards. The Senior Java Developer will also support the organization’s broader mission of maintaining leadership in Medicare contracting by ensuring a secure, reliable, and efficient provider experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing enterprise-grade Java SE/EE applications, with a strong focus on production-ready code and testing practices.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting Apache Camel-based integration solutions, including RESTful services, route configuration, error handling, and connectivity to legacy systems and message brokers.
  • Experience working within Scrum teams, participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, and retrospectives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain back-end services powering the Medicare Provider Portal and integration applications.
  • Implement secure, high-performance code adhering to healthcare compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with product owners, QA, operations, and business analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Support and enhance Apache Camel-based integration applications, including configuring routes, handling errors, and connecting to various systems.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Diagnose and resolve production incidents and performance issues promptly.
  • Mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices to promote team growth and cross-team collaboration.
  • Ensure adherence to architectural guidelines, coding standards, and CI/CD processes.
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation and specifications in line with departmental standards.
