Java Developer / SDET

About the role

The Candidate Must Be Proficient In BOTH Core Java Development + Automation Testing The candidate will support a large-scale New York State of Health (NYSoH) enterprise application by contributing to both development and QA automation.

Responsibilities

• Write production Java code
• Design, build, and maintain robust automation frameworks
• Work closely with Dev and QA teams to improve testability
• Automate complex business rules
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Ensure high availability across complex enterprise integrations

Requirements

• Mandatory / Must-Have Skills:
  • Java Development: 5–8 years of software development/SDET experience in Java-based enterprise applications
  • Core Java / J2EE
  • Spring Framework
  • Hibernate/JPA / ORM
  • Maven or Gradle
  • JUnit / TestNG
  • Automation Testing: Strong Selenium with Java
  • Experience designing/developing automation frameworks
  • Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
  • Writing automation scripts for complex business rules/rules engines
  • CI/CD Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD using one or more: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions
  • Database / SQL: Strong relational database knowledge
  • SQL
  • DB2 preferred
  • DB2 SQL syntax
  • PL/SQL
• Front-End: Angular or another modern JavaScript framework
• Enterprise Application Experience: At least 1 year supporting large-scale enterprise applications
• High availability: Complex integrations
• Healthcare Experience: Healthcare / Medicaid / Health Exchange experience is specifically listed and should be strongly preferred
• Additional / Preferred Skills: Healthcare applications, Medicaid, Health Benefit Exchange, EDI 834 / 837, AccelQUI Path, Rational Quality Manager, Mobile Testing, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Performance Testing, Security Testing, Agile methodologies
